BENGALURU: Senior employees of TCS saw significant reductions in their quarterly variable pay for the Sept quarter, receiving 20-50% of the payout even though they fulfilled the mandatory office attendance criteria.
“HR has told us that they are not aware of why this has happened. For some other accounts, the message has gone through a project allocation index where any unit’s performance during the quarter is considered for variable pay,” an employee told TOI.
In response to TOI’s query, TCS said, “For Q2FY25, we have paid out 100% QVA (quarterly variable allowance) to junior grades across the company. For all other grades, the QVA depends on their unit’s business performance. This is in line with our standard practice across quarters.” Earlier this year, TCS implemented a policy linking variable pay to office attendance. TOI first reported this development.
