NEW DELHI: One97 Communications (OCL), which operates under the Paytm brand, announced on Tuesday that their users can now make UPI payments at specific international destinations, including select locations in the UAE, Singapore, France, Mauritius, Bhutan, and Nepal. This service enables customers to handle various transactions, including retail purchases, restaurant bills, and local activities abroad through their Paytm application.
“One97 Communications (OCL) that owns the brand Paytm, India’s leading payments and financial services distribution company and the pioneer of QR, Soundbox and mobile payments, has enabled Paytm users to make UPI payments at select international locations,” the company stated in their announcement.
The service allows Indian travellers to conduct cashless transactions using their Paytm application at UPI-enabled locations across several international destinations, including the UAE, Singapore, France, Mauritius, Bhutan, and Nepal.
“With the upcoming holiday season, we are sure that this launch will make foreign travel even more convenient for users. This expansion reflects our commitment to leveraging technology that empowers our users, wherever they are in the world,” said the company representative.
